Job description:
This position is responsible for directing the staff and daily activities of the production assembly and test personnel by prioritizing schedules based on product introduction and manufacturing and engineering schedules. This role is accountable for the development and review of departmental standards and procedures which is paramount to ensuring the safety of the personnel and the quality, workmanship standards and objectives for manufacturing ATE ops products. In parallel with ensuring the efficient operation of the function, this manager is expected to make recommendations for changes in production methods and processes to improve product quality, performance and profitability. This person will also participate in the evaluations, reviews and approvals of production methods and tooling needed to transition new products to routine production.
Responsibilities:
-Plans and coordinates daily operations to meet production schedules, product standards and operational cost.
-Integrates with other Operations departments to set and achieve Test Goals for future products. -Utilizes and prepares production, personnel and financial reports as aids to achieving production goals of improve cycle time, on-time delivery, quality, and cost.
-Develop and manage department interfaces between Manufacturing and other divisional and service groups to identify and accomplish program specific challenges.
-Develops and maintains safety and housekeeping standards.
-Develops monitors and controls department budget. Performs resource planning activities (manpower, equipment, labor, space)
Requirements:
-BS in one of the following: Manufacturing Eng, Process Eng, Operations Management.
-8 years in a manufacturing and test environment or equivalent experience.
-Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
-Effective use of Microsoft Office products.
-Efficient use of MRP tool (Oracle 11i)
-Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques is a plus
