Job Title: Plant Manager, IBMS North China Immediate Supervisor: GM, IBMS Regional Operations
Job Purpose: Management of the IBMS manufacturing facilities and operations in North China to ensure leadership and continuous improvement on all aspects of operation including, but not limited to, productivity, quality, customer service, cost, 6-Sigma, logistics, supply chain, environment, health & safety, and to drive towards Avery Dennison’s world class manufacturing objectives.
Main Responsibilities: 1.To lead the IBMS operations teams in North China (Kunshan50, Qingdao50, and Suzhou2----1000, fuzhou 30 in the future) to achieve world class manufacturing standards and ensure that the entities’ operational goals are achieved in terms of service reliability, productivity, quality, and cost, etc. 2.To lead and be the overall project manager for the new production site start-up project in Suzhou. 3.To coordinate with the Global IBMS Operations Management Team on global operations strategy and regional investment priorities. 4.To plan, develop, and manage capital expenditure budget for all IBMS North China operations to ensure that production capacity and capabilities are optimized while operating within approved AFE’s and overall annual CapEx budget. 5.To drive continuous improvement at all IBMS North China operations by working closely with the Global Operations Management Team to define relevant operational performance metrics and measure the operations against those metrics. 6.To drive implementation of cost saving and productivity / quality improvement projects at all IBMS North China operations by managing and directing 6-Sigma methodology. 7.To set objectives, provide directions and support to monitor quality standards; develop and drive implementation of Total Quality policies across all IBMS North China operations. 8.To steer the Offset printing organization at each IBMS North China operation towards the rollout and compliance of the IBMS Global Print Initiative. 9.To challenge and exploit new technologies where appropriate to achieve cost saving and competitive advantage. 10.To work with the Global Operations Management Team to ensure consistent layout design for any future IBMS facilities in North China as well as continuous asset selection that supports IBMS’ global technology platform and equipment standard. 11.To ensure EHS compliance in all IBMS North China operations. 12.To manage the material and product outsourcing supply chain of all IBMS North China operations and drive continuous improvements in the areas of service, turnaround time, quality, inventory turns, and cost, etc.
Job Requirement: -University graduate, MBA preferred. 10+ years of related working experience in large-scale manufacturing / operations environment, 5 years of which in managerial level. -Strong manufacturing and logistics management background, preferably in printing related business that is transaction intensive and for highly tailor-made products. -Previous experience in starting new operations from green field sites and overseeing construction projects for new start-up locations. -Strong project management skills, be able to work through obstacles and to drive multiple projects simultaneously. -Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with good business acumen and integrity. -High level of proficiency in both English and Putonghua.
