POSITION1: Analog Hardware Development Engineer – ** Medical JOB TITLE: Senior Design Engineer LOCATION: Beijing REPORTS TO: CORE TEAM TECHNICAL MANAGER (WHO REPORTS TO DC Manager – ** Medical Beijing)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
During the start-up of the Medical Design Center the analog hardware (HW) engineer will work to transfer the needed know-how and processes for medical product development and to set-up the development environment with related infrastructure. Once the set-up is complete the candidate will be responsible for the analog/RF HW development of new medical devices working as part of a cross-functional team. It is expected that the candidate will take a lead position for analog/RF HW design on customer programs.
The position will also involve customer technical interface as needed to support project related discussions.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The analog HW Engineer will be responsible to: Support HW/FW architectural definition. Work within the design team to drive for modularity and reuse, adopting time and cost effective solutions Execute detailed analog HW design work including schematics, component selection, simulations, tolerance analysis, error budget analysis, FMEA Use design excellence, design for 6 sigma processes Design low power battery operated devices Design for low level signal detection and processing Design electrical/optical sensor interface and calibration methodology Design RF circuits, PCB layout and select RF chipset Support PCB design and PCB/PCBA prototyping activities Provide high quality technical reports supported by simulations and/or lab tests Investigate new technologies and trends with close relationship with vendors Support device testing and troubleshooting activities including preparing detailed test protocols Provide leadership to less Sr. analog HW Engineers Ensure that analytical & structured design methods are primary approach to circuit design by core team and remainder of Beijing ** Medical teams Help ensure that standard processes are followed by Beijing analog HW developers consistent w/ Monza processes Be familiar with IP creation process and being able to contribute to creation of new IPs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate in Electrical Engineering (MS degree) and a minimum of 5 years of analog/RF HW electrical design. Detailed designing experience with the following or proficient knowledge of: -Embedded microcontroller architectures, 8/16 bit -Very low power electrical design -High accuracy and very small signals analog front ends design -A/D conversion techniques -DC/DC converters for portable devices, battery operated -RF/RFID Technologies -RF circuit design, RF chipset selection, RF PCB layout. Familiarity with RF antenna design is a plus. -RF measurement capability including spectrum analyzer, RF signal generators etc. -Design for low cost -Electrical/Optical sensors -Experience in ASIC design and development is a plus Specialized or working knowledge in personal healthcare appliances is a plus Design for high volume manufacturing is essential for the success of candidate Vendor technical management capability and experience Ability to inspect and understand third party analog HW design to run effective design reviews Experience with analog/RF HW bring-up and system HW/FW debugging Working knowledge of typical and RF laboratory instruments and analytical tools used in the development of embedded electronic products Knowledge and experience of design for Manufacturability and testability principles Teamwork with third parties in an international environment Good attitude in facing end customers worldwide Good communication skills both written and oral in both English and Chinese Highly motivated and willing to frequently travel on business trips

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Once the set-up is complete the candidate will be responsible for the HW development of new medical devices working as part of a cross-functional team. It is expected that the candidate will take a lead position for HW design on customer programs as well as become the technical leader/manager for the HW team as the design center grows in size
The position will also involve customer technical interface as needed to support project related discussions.

The HW Engineer will be responsible to: Define new HW/SW architectures, analyses performances and provide feasibility studies Work within the design team to drive for modularity and reuse, adopting time and cost effective solutions Execute detailed HW design work including schematics, component selection, tolerance analysis Support PCB design and PCB/PCBA prototyping activities Provide high quality technical reports supported by simulations and/or lab tests Investigate new technologies and trends with close relationship with vendors Support unit testing and troubleshooting activities Lead HW design reviews and code inspections Interface with customers as HW development technical reference on development programs
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate in Electrical Engineering (MS degree) and a minimum of 5 years of HW electrical design. Detailed knowledge of: -Embedded microcontroller architectures, 8/16 bit -Very low power electrical design -HW/FW partitioning analysis techniques -High accuracy and very small signals analogue front ends design -A/D conversion techniques -DC/DC converters for portable devices, battery operated -Graphic displays, LCD (BW, CSTN, TFT), OLED -Design for low cost -Optical sensors Special knowledge in personal healthcare appliances is a plus Able to lead project feasibility tasks, when product specifications are not defined yet and subject to changes Vendor technical management capability and experience Ability to inspect and understand third party HW design to run effective code reviews Experience with HW bring-up and debugging Knowledge and experience of design for testability principles Teamwork with third parties in an international environment Good attitude in facing end customers worldwide Good communication skills both written and oral in both English and Chinese Highly motivated and willing to frequently travel on business trips
